i’ve noticed about half of Rasmus’s hits are doubles and this made me wonder if what he was hitting for a home run last year turned into a double in double A?
It’s Redhawks, not Isotopes. The Birds are in Oklahoma. The Topes play in Albuquerque.
I was actually at the Swing/Chiefs game today in Peoria and I quite enjoyed cheering on the Swing in front of numerous Chiefs/Cubs fans. I was dissapointed that the radar gun was not working at O’Brien Field today as it looked like whoever the Chiefs were throwing to start the game was really throwing heat. Although the Swing starting pitcher didn’t get rocked, he certainly looked like he was struggling his entire outing to get batters out.
But, the best part of the entire day was seeing the great Wizard Of Oz come out onto the field to throw out the first pitch and then shake Sandberg’s hand over home plate. That made my day.
Pedro…thanks for pointing that out. Fixed. Lopey, sounds like fun. How did King’s slider look? Anything else catch your eye?
Kary Booher’s article about the Springfield game fills in some good details, including that one of Rasmus’s doubles came at the conclusion of a 13-pitch, hard-fought at-bat.
