• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

5/1/07 Daily Prospect Report

See below for April’s monthly report…I’m sure I’ve left some other notable performances out…

Memphis 4, Omaha 2

Blake Hawksworth coaxed 3 double plays and allowed only 1 run on 8 hits, not walking a man and striking out 3 in 7 innings. He had 12 ground outs to 6 fly outs.
Rick Ankiel went 2 for 3 with a walk.
Edgar Gonzalez went 0 for 3 with a walk and two fielding errors.

Springfield and Wichita were rained out.

Palm Beach 7, Daytona Cubs 6

Catcher Brandon Yarbrough went 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs including 2 doubles and a triple. He also scored the go ahead run in the 8th. He currently has a .317 GPA.
Allen Craig went 2 for 4. His .371 batting average leads the FSL.
Gary Daley allowed 5 runs in 5 innings on 7 hits and a walk. One of those hits was a 2 run homer. He struck out just 2.
Luke Gregerson pitched a perfect 9th, striking out 2 and picked up his first save.

QC 4, Great Lakes 2

The Loon’s bullpen and defense had an absolute meltdown, leading to a 4 run 8th.
Shaun Garceau struck out 5 in 5 innings, giving up just 2 hits. One of his hit’s was a solo HR, the only run he allowed.

  1. thank you for this site

  2. what does GPA stand for?

  3. Gross Production Average. It’s OBP * 1.8 + SLUG /4. It should be adjusted for park, I haven’t done that. The scale of GPA is similar to BA: .200 is lousy, .265 is around average and .300 is a star.

  4. BTW both Ludwick and Gonzalez had their consecutive-game-hitting streaks broken yesterday. Ludwick was at 14 and Gonzalez was at 13…

Any idea what the errors gonzalez made looked like?

  5. thank you
