See below for April’s monthly report…I’m sure I’ve left some other notable performances out…
Blake Hawksworth coaxed 3 double plays and allowed only 1 run on 8 hits, not walking a man and striking out 3 in 7 innings. He had 12 ground outs to 6 fly outs.
Rick Ankiel went 2 for 3 with a walk.
Edgar Gonzalez went 0 for 3 with a walk and two fielding errors.
Springfield and Wichita were rained out.
Catcher Brandon Yarbrough went 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs including 2 doubles and a triple. He also scored the go ahead run in the 8th. He currently has a .317 GPA.
Allen Craig went 2 for 4. His .371 batting average leads the FSL.
Gary Daley allowed 5 runs in 5 innings on 7 hits and a walk. One of those hits was a 2 run homer. He struck out just 2.
Luke Gregerson pitched a perfect 9th, striking out 2 and picked up his first save.
The Loon’s bullpen and defense had an absolute meltdown, leading to a 4 run 8th.

thank you for this site
what does GPA stand for?
Gross Production Average. It’s OBP * 1.8 + SLUG /4. It should be adjusted for park, I haven’t done that. The scale of GPA is similar to BA: .200 is lousy, .265 is around average and .300 is a star.
BTW both Ludwick and Gonzalez had their consecutive-game-hitting streaks broken yesterday. Ludwick was at 14 and Gonzalez was at 13…
Any idea what the errors gonzalez made looked like?
thank you
