• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

4/13/07 Daily Prospect Report

Colorado Springs (Rockies affiliate) 11, Memphis 7

Mike Smith; who’s filling in for the recently disabled Chris Narveson who’s out with either an oblique injury or shoulder issue (I’m hearing conflicting reports), got roughed up today, giving up 7 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings. He struck out 4 and walked 1.
Chris Lambert only got one out in relief and gave up 4 runs on 3 walks and a hit.
Catcher Brian Esposito went 3 for 4.
Nick Stavinoha went 2 for 5 with 2 strikeouts.
Recent call up from Springfield and 26 year old shortstop Mike McCoy doubled and walked twice.
Edgar Gonzalez hit a base clearing double, going 1 for 5 for the day.
Ryan Christianson went 2 for 3 with a HR and a walk.

Springfield 9, Arkansas (Angels affiliate) 4

After missing ten games with a sore shoulderJon Jay was in the mix of things, scoring three runs and went 1 for 3 with 2 walks. He also stole a base.
Bryan Anderson went 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
Joe Mather has is tapering off a bit after his hot April. He went 0 for 5 with a K and left 5 runners on base. He also had 2 errors, one fielding the other throwing. That’s a bad day.
Tyler Greene went 2 for 5 with 3 K’s.
Diminutive outfielder Sean Danielson (5′8″, 165) is hitting .432 (.380 GPA) in 44 at bats. He went 2 for 5 with a walk. According to firstinning.com, 36% of his batted balls are liners. Danielson started the season playing in Palm Beach.
Cory Rauschenberger threw 6 innings of 2 hit ball, which sounds great and all, but he walked 5 and struck out just 2. He also hit to batters. He did however have a nifty GB/FB ratio of 13-3.
Jason Motte (not Chris Perez, interestingly) saved the game, going 2.1 innings and struck out 2 to 2 hits. His other 5 outs all came on the ground.

Palm Beach was off today.

Quad Cities 3, Burlington Bees (Royals affiliate) 2

Tyler Herron struck out 5 in 5 innings, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and a walk.
Daryl Jones went 2 for 5.
Donovan Solano also went 2 for 5.
Luke Gorsett went 2 for 4.
Brandon Buckman doubled and drove in a run for his only hit. His 35 RBIs lead the MWL by a good margin. He also leads the league in HRs (9) and slugging .656.
