• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

4/14/07 Daily Prospect Report

Redbirds 12, Sky Sox 5

Rick Ankiel was placed on the DL with an Achilles tendon injury. *sigh*

Rico Washington went 4 for 4 with a HR. He also scored 4 runs and drove in 3.
The slumping Nick Stavinoha broke out tonight, doubling and hitting a HR and drove in 4 runs.
Edgar Gonzalez (free Edgar!) went 2 for 5 with a double and triple.
Our road dog Skip Schumaker went 2 for 5.
Randy Keisler had another rough go of it. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits and two walks over 5.2 innings.
Mark Worrell struck out 2 and allowed a hit in 1.1.

Arkansas 4, Springfield 3

Cody Haerther was activated from the DL after suffering with a wrist injury that occured in spring training.

Colby Rasmus hit a solo HR to bring the Cardinals within one run, it was his only hit of the game. The HR was his 6th of the year. He already merited his own “watch” long ago, sorry for not having it up sooner.
Jaime Garcia continues to work out his mechanical kinks. He had 4 earned runs over 5 innings. He allowed 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3. His groundball/fly ball ratio was 7-3.
Bryan Anderson went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He also allowed his 5th passed ball of the season. The passed ball allowed a run to score.
Juan Richardson went 2 for 4.
Nick Webber allowed no runs on 2 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. He also threw a wild pitch.

Palm Beach/St. Lucie was a washout

Burlington 3, QC 2

Eddie Degerman and Shaun Garceau were dueling banjo’s when it came to K’s, both fanned 7. Degerman went 5 innings and allowed 1 run on 3 hits with no walks. He had 5 ground outs to 4 fly outs. Garceau pitched 3 hitless innings, then this happened:

Garceau was then pulled.
The game lasted a total of 11 innings before they lost it. Luke Gorsett and Brandon Buckman both doubled.

  1. Degerman’s looking like the next Yusmeiro Petit… for what that’s worth, at this point.

  2. hey erik, is ankiel’s enjury supposed to be a serious one or just a minor injury? also, isnt the triple A dl only 7 games, so he might be out only a week. by the way, thanks for the great coverage and keep it up; you guys are really doing a great job.
