AZ has his question of the day, see below or click here. Per Goold, again. The Cardinals have signed 8 more of their draftees.
82. Jess Todd, RHP, U of Arkansas
112. David Descalso 3B, UC Davis
502. Antone DeJesus, OF, U of Kentucky
772. JD Stambaugh, LHP, Brigham Young U
1010. Josh Fritsche, LHP, Oklahoma State
1068. Mike Blazek, RHP, HS, Nevada
1097. Collin Fanning, OF, Brigham Young
1235. Ramon Delgado, RHP, Pima CC
Asked if first-round pick Pete Kozma, a prep shortstop from Oklahoma, would be signed by the time the shortened seasons begin later this month, farm director Jeff Luhnow said: “That would be a long shot.”
No word on Russell or Reifer at this point. If Kozma is a long shot by June 19th, then have to be an even longer shot to get signed any time soon. It’ll just be a matter of time. The short season teams start June 19th. I’m going to be doing a review of the prospects BA ranked 1-30 before the season to let you know where they are at, as well as perhaps a mid-season review of each squad hopefully before Tuesday. Like AZ said, apologies for a slight slow down on content. Workee-work! Busy bee! I think the draft took a lot out of both of us, but we’ll be trying to have a little bit more content up the weeks to come. The daily reports will get a lot bigger, with the Cardinals now having three short season clubs now.

i don’t get the hold up w/signing pk. the best way for him to prove all the “experts” wrong is to get out their and play.
I really thought one of the reasons they drafted Kozma was that he would probably be an easy sign. Looks like I was wrong. I figure Russell will come down to the 11th hour.
