I ask because St. Louis has two guys from later rounds in their 2007 draft, Steve Hill and Nick Derba, who are absolutely terrorizing the Midwest League after brutalizing NY/Penn. Any chance they're real sleepers, or is this a case of 21-year-old college kids having effectively bypassed the level just because they were in college? They also placed Hugo Castellanos on the 7 day DL. Cards moved 3B/1B Rico Washington, who was rehabbing with the GCL club, to Springfield. That move was made to help strenghten the corner spots for the Cardinals. The move also means that Washington will be eligible for the AA playoffs. Yesterday was the last day that Texas League teams could make moves to their rosters for the playoffs. And for those that are interested, Springfield will be selling playoff tickets to the general public today. See their website for information on how to purchase.
