Please tell me that this wasn't ONE game's worth of work by Daryl Jones. Lots of noise in his swing, very shifty. Do you see how he pre-opens his hips (watch his front leg "open up" and then his hips follow). Plus, his swing plane isn't very good either. I'm hoping that he doesn't hit this way all the time. This isn't the worst swing I've ever seen, but it certainly isn't good by any means. LOTS of work to do, but it isn't overly handsy or anything. He looks like he has at least somewhat of decent "move", but well, WAY too much noise for someone without power. LOTS of work...did I mention that? Buckman's swing is connected and powerful, but it is kinda long. Actually, it IS long, at least based on these swings. See how his barrel lays back early? Tough to move the barrel quickly when it gets farther away from your center of mass/rotation. My two cents.... Yikes…..

Horrific. Jones has to time everything right to even have a chance of hitting the ball solidly. Horrific.

And how long does the excuse for his poor production pass because he is raw? My concern with Buckman is that his swing can get long and his hands drift in the zone at times. It will be interesting to see the adjustments he makes next season. I would assume he will start the year back at Palm Beach with Mark Hamilton back at Springfield. One thing that is not a concern is his defense. He is superb with the glove. www.whiteyball.com I know that Jones is real toolsy and all but isn’t it time he put those tools to work? Jones' swing may be one of the ugliest I've seen since watching a high school game. I don't think he would even be able to be an above average college player with that swing. He either needs to take to coaching or find something else to do. Brutally ugly. Buckman's swing was much easier on the eyes. I can see where he has been able to hit low minors pitching. He doesn't seem to overswing very much, so he must center the ball pretty good. Wow D. Jones’ swing may be one of the ugliest I’ve seen since watching a high school game. That being said, its easy to spot an obvious problem of Jones's hands and his weight shift. Something like that can be fixed by simply shifting to an open stance and changing the placement of his feet. But by looking at that swing, he provides no load, he provides too many moving parts and he looks like a guy who is trying to spray the ball, but is doing so in a more power based swing. After watching that swing, I am concerned. Again I think watching a guys batting stance and swing on video is an inexact science and a real, real bad way to judge his talent.
