• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Daily Prospect Report 11/8/07

erik’s running a Reader’s Top 25 for you to voice your opinion on Cardinal prospects.

Bryan Anderson cracks me up. Here’s a few snippets from his latest journal entry:

Almost everyone and their brother drive a moped here.

I like sushi but this sushi is gnarly.

Their money is also different: 30 Taiwanese dollars equals one U.S. dollar, so that takes a little time to get used to.

I’m going to relax now and watch one of the two television channels that speak English.

Bryan Anderon’s synopsis of other countries: they drive mopeds, cook things different, don’t use American dollars and have fewer English TV channels. Who knew? In all seriousness, I imagine it’s pretty cool to get to go play over in Taiwan on the world stage. Keep us updated with your eloquent and astute journal entries Bryan!

Team USA plays Italy on Friday, which I’ll update in the morning.

Team USA lost to Italy in a 6-2 game.  The USA starter, Josh Outman got knocked around a bit.  They haven’t posted the box score yet but you can read about the game.

Mesa 5, Phoenix 3

  • Jarrett Hoffpauir went 0-for-3 with a BB. Please start hitting for average Jarrett — I’ve kinda attached my name to you at this point over Miles. Don’t let me down.
  • Amaury Marti went 1-for-4. Marti has a new TV show coming out called Walker, Cazana Ranger. He beats up Chuck Norris in every episode.
  • Jason Motte threw a scoreless 9th for the save. He allowed 1 hit and struck out a batter.

  1. looks like 3 errors did the team in.. and another double for rasmus - dude just keeps playing.

  2. Team USA lost to Italy. In baseball?

  3. as the biggest cards fan in taiwan, i welcome mr. anderson. a few comments on his comments:

    1. yes, mopeds are the predominant form of transportation in this country. everyone and their brother and their sister and their cousins and their mother and their father and … has one. ive got two myself.

    2. he got unlucky with the sushi. taiwan has awesome sushi.

    3. he also has poor cable service. most people have at least 5 movie channels, one channel that shows some sitcoms and stuff, and there is also CNN. not great, but it can get you through the evening. or you can just watch sports with chinese announcers. they always break into spanish and shout “Hasta La Vista, Baby!” when a homerun is hit. its supremely annoying.

anyway, i wish that i was in taichung now and could get over to see some games, but i moved from there to taipei about a month ago.

good luck to bryan and team USA!

  4. I don’t know about you azruavatar, but I’m darned impressed FR have readers in Taiwan.

  5. FR has readers in Italy as well.
