• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Kozma was very close. So vote for #9. Will it be Kozma, Jose Martinez, Craig…someone else?

  11. Martinez. I’d pick Craig if I was convinced he’d develop league average D at 3rd.

Koz is close and Martinez is on my radar but right now Hoff is my guy.

  18. martinez no doubt, just 2 years older then Kozma. hit 300. at AA

  20. Allen Craig. D.GOOCH

  22. Martinez. May have a lower ceiling but I like his performance at AA for his age. Kozma hasn’t shown anything yet other than that he’s a surprising 1st round choice.

  23. Allen Craig

  24. Kozma

  25. I’ll go Kozma again.

  26. No way anyone will agree but I would go with Mark McCormick! Just thinking in terms of a would you rather…

Would you rather have a possible #2 starter that had only a 20% chance of making it or a #4/#5 starter (PJ Walters, et all) that had a 60% chance of making it. Or a potential solid 2B who had an 80% chance of making it to league average (say J. Hoffpauir)…

Tough call, but my gut goes with the guy with upside. You can always get an “average” 3B for $2M/year. Your chances of getting a difference making starting pitcher are near nil these days. I’ll take the upside…likelihood be damned.

  27. You’re assuming a lot with a 20% chance for McCormack ;)
