• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Daily Prospect Report 11/16/07

Mesa wrapped up it’s last game with a 6-5 win over the Peo Saguaros.

Jarrett Hoffpauir finally recorded an extra base hit (a double) to finish with a .236/.368/.255 line in Arizona.  By now I think it’s pretty clear that I think a lot of Hoffpauir but he needs to continue to display some of the power he had this past season.  It’s not often that the good-plate discipline, no power skillset translates well to the majors.  Making sure that the pitchers aren’t willing to just blow him away with fastballs is important and he’ll do that by displaying some power.

Luke Gregerson pitched a scoreless frame. Amaury Marti went 0-for-3 with a pair of walks and Mark Hamilton went 1-for-3 with a walk.  Hamilton had a somewhat disappointing AFL batting just .171 although he maintained a nice 13BB:9K.  The Cardinal prospects seemed to have a power outage down in Arizona for some reason.

Chris Kline from Baseball America released his Top 20 prospects in the AFL.  No Cardinals made this list though.  He chatted about it here.

Colby Rasmus went 1-for-4 as Team USA beat Korea 3-1.

  1. I’ve been doing a semester long project on hockey and need your help. I need quotes from hockey fans about a number of things…or a hockey non-fan who likes answering questions. You dont need to have any deep knowledge of the sport, but if you do thats cool to.

If youd be willing to help you can post back to this comment or email me at eda900player2000@yahoo.com

  2. Reports are surfacing that Cody Haerther was removed from the 40 man roster and was claimed on waivers by the Blue Jays.

Hard to understand that move. Mo is off to a bad start.

  3. What the… I guess we have a lot of outfielders, but that seems kind of a pointless loss. A personal favorite of mine, I was hoping for a breakout season in Memphis by Haerther.
