• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Wanna contribute something to the site?

We are open to new and fresh ideas and would be open to some guest appearances here. You can submit to me a piece and if I feel it’s worth publishing, we’ll do it. I won’t accept just anything, I’m looking for some quality and actual thought put into something here. AZ and I would also reserve the right to edit for length and consistency. I prefer short and sweet, rather then 2000+ words of going on and on. It could turn into a regular posting gig. God knows we could use some help during the long summer of posting DPRs.

If you’re interested, send me what you got.

Also, if you have any suggestions on something we can do or something you’d like to see, let us know.

  1. You know what might be kind of fun? Having both of you guys and perhaps two other participants draft an all-Cardinal farm system fantasy league. 4 to 6 participants would probably be the limit.

You could post the draft, periodically give updates on the standings, post whose having a monster week, etc. It might be more work than it’s worth, but it could be interesting. I’ve only been religiously checking this site for a few months, so forgive me if this idea has already come up.

  2. I been thinking a good idea between now and the start of the season might be to pick individuals from within the system, assume a level they will be at and put a projected stat line in for them. People could vote over or under, buy or sell, whatever you want to call it…..

Might create an opportunity for some (hopefully) civil debate between people on how they view this system and key individuals in it. I know your top 25 sparked some of the same stuff, but maybe this allows people to get into more detail.

For example - Hoffpauir (Memphis) .275/.355/.410

Probably a stale example, as his baseline has become reasonably well established, but you might get more interesting dialogue with people like Mortensen, Kozma, Edwards, Craig etc. It also gives some feel for what the community thinks, that we can use as a point of reference right after the season ends. A framework to deal with when want to look back and talk about surprises and disappointments, etc.

  3. How about a podcast of some sort? Not necessarily volunteering but I’d certainly be willing to think about it.

  4. i’d be for a podcast, but the equipment needed is out of my price rang. unless you all want to donate for it, then i don’t think it’s gonna happen

  5. actually, erik, i have a sansa mp3 player and it has a quality voice recorder and you can dump it on your computer and convert it to mp3 and make it available to download. i got mine for $60. it wouldn’t work for phone interviews and such, but it may be a way to do a simple podcast.
