UPDATE: We had a good and quick response, thanks for everyone who sent me emails. I believe I found who I’m looking for.
Hey all, sorry for no regular post today. I’m currently tapped out, but I do have a few things I’m working on. Kevin Goldstein’s Top 11 will be out this weekend or Monday at the latest, so there’s that to look forward to discussing and maybe we’ll get Kevin to do a little Q and A.
AZ and I talked a few weeks back and we want to add another writer to the site. Would any of you be interested? Here’s what we are looking for:
- Fair and balanced: As in not Fox News “fair and balanced”. If you aren’t a Cardinal fan, then you probably aren’t reading this site very often, but we want someone who can be honest and balanced in their critiques of Cardinal prospects and the organization.
- Knowledgeable: Someone who is up on their stuff when it pertains to prospects and Cardinals, and has at least some knowledge of non-baseball card stats.
- Good writing skills: I know I’m not the most polished writer in the world, so we’re not looking for perfection. But we’d prefer someone who can properly use grammar, punctuate, use some style, vocab, and proper spelling. Being able to get to the point and be brief is also key.
- Attention to detail: Obviously, getting the facts straight is important. AZ and I do our best to make sure we do our homework. We don’t just crank this stuff out in 15 minutes, it takes some due diligence to get our info together. Having a subscription to Baseball America, Baseball Prospectus and other online sources is a big plus.
- Internet savvy: Blogging with WordPress is a piece of cake, but I’d like to get someone who knows their way around the web and their own computer. You have to know how to insert links, add pictures, know when/how to use block quote, bullet points, etc. If you have some blogging experience already, bonus.
- While I’d like someone who is available to attend a live game every now and then, it’s not required.
- This is a huge one: Be willing to share the load with the Daily Prospect Reports, at least two or three times a week. Aside from helping with the DPRs, you aren’t committed to writing a ton of posts, just what you are able. That may be once or twice a week. If so, that is more then fine. Whatever is flexible with your schedule and you are willing to do.
- Lastly, We’d like someone with an opinion or two. We want someone who will share their voice, and not just spew information.
Blogging is a fun learning experience. If you are interested, email me at eriknmanningATgmailDOTcom.

Boo Brevity!
that was a very brief reply, TRB
Guys, let me applaud this idea. I would love to say that I would be able to do it. God knows I want to. But I couldn’t come close to your level of knowledge about the organization, specifically the farm system.
That said, I’m sure you’ll find someone who’ll only increase the value of an already indispensable site.
More content, especially on a quality site such as this, is never a bad thing. Best of luck.
Eric-
I am not really a blogger per se, but would be willing to ghip in a card oriented cartoon every month or so. I have ideas for these occasionally, but as you know I am open to ideas. Think of it like a FRB weatherbird type of thing, only related to the Cards prospects.

I dislike Dewitt too much to have any credible website take ownership in my comments.
