While the Cards probably didn't end up with any superstars, Mortensen is looking good for a middle of the rotation spot, maybe better, Kozma at best being a Michael Young type, then you look at what guys like Jess Todd and David Kopp are doing. With some of the other guys that have some intriguing tools (T. Henley, Zwacki (sp?), D. Hooker, D. Ingram) you have to give it to Luhnow and co., compared to Drafts past they did an excellent job. Walters gives every appearance of being ready for the challenge of AAA. Not only did he post a 2.37 ERA in his 8 AA starts last year, but check out the breakdown: 1st 4 starts 23 IP, 14 K's, 9 BB's, 10 ER 2nd 4 starts 26.1 IP, 23 K's, 6 BB's, 3 ER Walters made quick adjustments, and in no time became as dominant at Springfield as he was in A-ball. I'm not going to doubt him until hitters begin hittin' him. Garcia certainly looks ready for AAA, as well. Hard to believe a non-prospect like Hawksworth or Parisi (both had ERAs around 5.00 in AAA while old for the league) will be allowed to block either him or Walters for any length of time. P.J. I'm excited to see what he can do over a full season. Seriously, every time I blink Arnoldi “Caribbean” Cruz puts up some sick game. I’m excited to see what he can do over a full season.
