Gary Daley pitched two scoreless…but he also hit two with a pitch…not trying to correct you erik…but not a small detail considering his last outing.

I was also at the QC game in Cedar Rapids last night. There is nothing like sitting around in 40 degree weather for 4.5 straight hours. I wrote some thoughts over on the 4/9 minor league thread at thestlcardinals.com last night.

I’d like to hear what Erik thought about Garceau. RH, what have you heard about Garceau’s pitching style? My thoughts…he threw hard, but doesn’t have a lot of sink. He was throwing up in the zone a lot in the first 2 innings and got in some trouble. He’s got a hell of a breaking pitch. i’m still trying to figure out if that was a hard 11-5 knuckle curve or a slurve. Once he established his breaking pitch, he was more effective. In the 3rd inning he was pitching low in the zone and using his breaking pitch, and he was unhittable.

Kozma stood out in the field. He looked great. I’ve got some more ramblings on the other site that I wrote last night.

kopp is in the box now. they did the same thing the last time these two pitched first saying kopp went 7 then later changing it.

anyway, kopp’s line was 3 innings, 2 hits, 3 runs, 0 earned, 1 walk, 0 strikeouts. not a great game for him as he didn’t record a strikeout and had more flyouts than groundouts, but he obviously wasn’t getting any help from his shortstop.

The piggyback is still being employed. David Kopp came in in the 5th and pitched 3 innings in between Mura and Daley. Not sure of his line.Don’t know why Kopp was never entered in the box. But I was listening to the game on the computer.

No, Kozma DH’d the 2nd game. I was there. I’ll have a little report on what my thoughts were…I liked Kozma.

I’ll also have a scouting report on Garceau either this afternoon or Friday.
